Ambassador Joe Keshi is a renowned technocrat of versatile experience, reckoned with a remarkable track both in the public and private sectors in Nigeria. He retired as the Permanent Secretary of both Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cabinet Secretariat under Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Musa Yar Adua respectively. Currently, he’s the Chairman, Board of Directors for AfriGrowth Foundation.
A diplomat for thirty-four years, who served in Togo, Ethiopia, Belgium, the Netherlands, Namibia, Sierra Leone (where he participated as a facilitator in the negotiations that ended the 10 years of civil war in the country) and the United States of America, where he served as the Consul-General of Nigeria based in Atlanta.
He also served as the National Coordinator, Nigeria National Volunteer Service (NNVS), which has the mandate to mobilize and facilitate the involvement of the Nigerian Diaspora in Nigeria’s development. He currently serves as the Director General of BRACED Commission, a body set up to harmonize socio-economic development in the South South region of Nigeria. Widely travelled, Ambassador Keshi is a recipient of many international and local awards including the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) conferred on him by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
